Plan around the business

What kind of space is it, and where should the sign work?

Choose the business type and placement. The result gives you a practical starting brief instead of a generic product suggestion.

01What kind of business is it?
02Where will clients see it?
Recommended salon brief

Hair salon or colour studio · Window or entrance

Plan a clear brand anchor that belongs in the room without competing with colour-accurate task lighting at the styling stations. We’ll review daylight, reflections, setback, viewing direction, mounting and the power route before recommending size or specification.

Brand and service priorities

  • Logo, studio name and brand colours
  • Client path from reception to reveal
  • Lighting used for colour work and photos

Space details to send

  • Day and evening photos from outside
  • Usable width, height and glass or wall surface
  • Indoor-behind-glass or exposed-outdoor placement

This selector is planning guidance. The final proposal confirms design feasibility, dimensions, brightness controls, backing, mounting, power, indoor or outdoor specification and project timing before production.

For outdoor, mirror-critical, large, multi-part or brand-sensitive work, use the tailored proposal route even when the design is text-based.

Designed for the camera

Make the sign part of the reveal.

A strong salon wall must work for the person in the room and for the phone framing the finished look. Test background, reflection, crop and brightness before final placement.

01

Start with the background

What is behind the sign?

Planning direction

Mirror or reflective surface

Keep the useful reflection area clear and test the doubled glow from the phone position clients actually use.

  • Photograph the full mirror straight on
  • Mark the working reflection area
  • Show task lights, chair and nearest power
01

Frame before centring

A sign centred on an empty wall may sit too high or crop badly once a client, chair and vertical phone frame are added.

02

Keep task light separate

Use neon for identity and ambience. Hair colour, skin and detailed services still need suitable colour-accurate working light.

03

Test the real phone

Check the approved composition with the devices, camera distance and normal room lighting the team uses for client content.

Neon is an ambient and brand feature, not a replacement for colour-accurate task lighting. Test the approved placement with the salon lights and the phones normally used for client photos.

Plan a camera-ready sign

Design around the client

One appointment. Five brand moments.

The right sign depends on what the client is doing at that exact point, from finding the door to seeing and sharing the result.

Before the appointment

Help clients find you

Shop name · logo · OPEN

Plan for street direction, daylight, evening contrast and the distance from which clients first identify the business.

At reception

Confirm the brand

Reception logo · welcome line

Use the arrival point to establish identity, perceived care and the tone of the service experience.

During the service

Stay present, not distracting

Mirror-side mark · quiet brand cue

Keep the feature clear of working reflections, task lights and areas exposed to unsuitable products, moisture or cleaning.

At the reveal

Frame the finished result

Logo · phrase · dedicated backdrop

Compose the client, result, sign and vertical phone crop together before deciding the installation height.

After the visit

Make the source recognisable

Consistent logo · tagged location

A clearly framed brand mark helps viewers understand where the result was created without forcing a promotional message.

A larger brand opportunity

Build a Salon Brand Set.

One coordinated brief

Plan exterior recognition, a reception brand anchor and a client reveal wall as one coherent project.

01

Be found

Window or entrance identity

Make the salon or shop easier to identify before the client reaches the desk.

  • Business name, logo or OPEN
  • Window, entrance or eligible outdoor placement
  • Day and night visibility
02

Be recognized

Reception logo anchor

Give the arrival point a consistent visual signature that belongs to the interior.

  • Logo or studio name
  • Desk and entrance sightline
  • Colour, backing and cable coordinated with the wall
03

Be remembered

Client reveal wall

Create a deliberate branded composition for finished looks, portraits and short-form video.

  • Short phrase, logo or icon
  • Client position and camera crop
  • Background and adjustable brightness planning

The set is a planning framework, not a fixed-price bundle. Quantity, dimensions, specification, destinations and delivery phasing are confirmed in the tailored quotation.

Before the first mockup

Four decisions that improve the result.

A strong salon or barber sign begins with the brand, wall, service environment and camera.

Protect logo recognition

Fine lines may need simplification, separation, printing or engraving so the finished sign still reads as the brand.

Respect the working mirror

The sign should not block the useful reflection, distract from detailed services or create an uncontrolled doubled glow.

Separate ambience from task light

Neon can shape mood and identity; service work and accurate colour evaluation still require suitable dedicated lighting.

Plan power, mounting and care

Wall material, cable exit, controls, cleaning routine and any moisture or product exposure are reviewed before approval.

A clear salon project process

From wall photo to finished reveal.

The important brand, visual and technical decisions remain visible before production begins.

Beauty salon & barber FAQ

Plan the space with fewer unknowns.

Clear answers for salon founders, independent artists, barber teams, designers and multi-location operators.

Is the salon mockup and quote free?

Yes. The first visual proposal and tailored quote are free and carry no obligation. No payment is required until you decide to proceed with the order.

Can you turn our salon, studio or barber logo into LED neon?

Usually, yes. Send the logo and identify details that must remain unchanged. Fine elements may need to be simplified or combined with printed or engraved acrylic so the result remains recognisable and manufacturable. You approve the interpretation before production.

Should we choose a custom logo, custom wording or a ready-made design?

Use the logo proposal route for brand artwork, exact typography, mirror-critical placement, large sizes, outdoor work or multi-sign projects. Use the online designer for straightforward indoor wording. Choose the beauty and barber collection when an existing design already fits the space.

Can an LED neon sign be installed on or near a salon mirror?

Often, yes, but the mirror’s usable reflection, task lights, fixing method, cleaning routine and cable route need to be considered. A full photo and dimensions help determine whether the sign should sit on, above, beside or opposite the mirror.

Will the sign work well in client photos and videos?

It can when placement and output are planned for the actual camera angle. Share the usual client position, phone crop, room lighting and background. Brightness control can be confirmed for suitable configurations so the tubing remains visible rather than becoming an overexposed patch.

Can neon replace our salon or treatment task lighting?

No. LED neon should be treated as a brand and ambience feature. Hair colour work, skin services and detailed treatments require suitable dedicated lighting for the task. Plan both systems so the sign supports the room without compromising accurate work.

Can the sign go in a window or outdoors?

An indoor sign can often be positioned behind glass after reflections, daylight, mounting and cable routing are reviewed. Eligible exposed projects can use an IP67 outdoor sign build, but outdoor use must be declared before production and each component must be placed appropriately for its rating and the environment.

Can it be used in a spa, wash area or humid treatment room?

Possibly, but the exact location needs review. Tell us about humidity, steam, splash, heat, cleaning products and distance from water. Indoor signs and their electrical components should not be assumed suitable for wet or high-humidity zones without an approved specification and safe component placement.

What size should a salon or barber neon sign be?

There is no useful one-size answer. The recommendation depends on logo proportions, wording, wall or mirror dimensions, installation height, client position and viewing or camera distance. A straight photo with one known measurement is enough to begin a scaled mockup.

Can we order several signs or coordinate multiple locations?

Yes. Share the number of signs, design variations, destination countries, electrical requirements and rollout schedule. We can coordinate visual consistency and delivery phasing as one project; any pricing advantage is confirmed in the tailored quotation.

What files and room information should we send?

Send a JPG, PNG or PDF if available; a screenshot or sketch can also start the conversation. Include a wide straight photo, usable dimensions, wall or mirror material, nearest power point, normal lighting, indoor or outdoor use, quantity and any opening or launch date.

What should we know about installation, care, timing and warranty?

The proposal confirms backing, mounting and cable direction. Elevated, concealed-cable, hardwired or unusual surface installations may require a qualified local installer or electrician. Clean the sign gently according to the care guidance and avoid harsh products. Timing depends on the approved design, size, quantity, specification and destination. The signs include a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty covering eligible manufacturing and component defects under the warranty terms.
